Samir Shaikh commissions prominent Bay Area residential designer Fred Herring.

Samir Shaikh rose to prominence in our community with his successful advocacy of real estate as a preferred investment vehicle (even in times of the greatest real estate downturn in recent memory!).

Mr. Shaikh's planned estate in the heights of Belmont California enjoys panoramic views of the Peninsula skyline, the distant ascent and descent of aircrafts to SFO, views of popular bay area bridges and more. A project ground breaking is anticipated in 2015, with construction completion in 2016.

Fred Herring, design principal at Herring & Worley, Inc., grew up in Richmond and later moved to the Peninsula to study Architecture at Stanford. Mr. Herring's homes have been featured in many publications and his work lauded as a unique contribution to Bay Area architecture. Herring & Worley, Inc. opened their doors in 1976 and continues to produce distinctive designs for projects throughout the Bay Area and in Mexico.

When asked about his choice of Fred Herring, Samir's exuberance was pronounced. "Fred is a rising local star with potential for much greater recognition. His work shows a level of imagination that's way out there. I'm a believer in betting on the ingenuity of such individuals and helping create opportunity with them to grow and become national stars." He further said, " such projects are not without their risks and with Fred in my team I’m ready to move forward with developing plans for the City of Belmont and the Mid Peninsula Water District."

Samir Shaikh is Founder and CEO of Rahmat Investments a Bay Area business incubator with a portfolio including SlabTile.com, Rahmat Marble Processing Plant, Samir & Rafia Properties Group, and others. Samir also works with General Electric (GE Software) and previously worked for Cisco Systems and Avaya. Mr. Shaikh holds a degree in Computer Science from LUMS and studied at Stanford University before departing to manage his growing business interests.
