BRSLL Kick Off Game 1 of Western Region Tourey With Shut Out

Sean Lee continues his strong fire power on the mound as he throws 14 strikes out, with a 8-0 shut out against Arizona. In typical Belmont style the game started slow at the end of 2 innings, 0-0 no hits. 

In the bottom of the 3rd inning, the Belmont Redwood Shores bats starting to wake up as Noah Marcelo bomed one out of the park putting BRS on the board, 1-0. Nicolas Lopez was walked and Dominic Susa hit to right field fence for a single with a pass ball allowing Lopez to cross the plate for a 2-0 lead. Lee smashed a hit to the fence for an RBI double, advancing BRS to a 3-0 lead at the top of the 4th. 

In the top of the 4th, it was 3 up 3 down for Lee. In the bottom of 4, Josh Fong walked, Noah Marcelo crushed a single to short setting the table for Lopez to blast it off the right field fence for an RBI Double. Brad Shimabuku crushed an out of the park homerun for 2 more RBIs, with BRS taking a 6-0 lead. With 2 outs and a new pitcher, Susa smashed a single to center and quickly stole 2nd, with Lee on fire, landed a ground rule double for RBI 7. 

In the top of the 5th, Lee in typical fashion 3 up 3 down again. In the bottom of the 5th, Luke Bugbee continued his hitting streak drilling a line drive to center field for a single. Marcelo stayed hot with a hit to left field for another RBI, 8-0. 

Top fo the 6th was a repeat of 3 up 3 down for Lee, winning the game 8-0. BRS takes on Hawaii on Sunday at 9am as the pool play continues on the road to WIlliamsport. 

A big shout out of thanks to all of the families and friends who made the trip to cheer on our boys today in San Bernadino and to the BRS community who packed the house at Carlmont High School and supporters acorss the US who followed the game on ESPN.
