Phone 508-344-7464 Hometown raised in Nashville, Tenn. Birthday Nov. 26 Bio Brooklyn is a writer at heart and journalist by training who has worked for community newspapers in Alabama and Tennessee. She loves a good story and thinks good books are meant to be shared. Brooklyn attended Auburn University (she could talk for hours about college football if you have the time), where she worked for the award-winning student newspaper and earned her degree in journalism. After college, Brooklyn returned to Nashville, Tenn., where she grew up, and worked as a PR specialist and editor for a nonprofit publishing house. A job opportunity in the Boston area brought her, along with her husband and a very playful 45-pound dog, to New England. Brooklyn is thrilled to be a part of the Patch community and is excited to be working in Wayland. Your beliefs At Patch, we promise always to report the facts as objectively as possible and otherwise adhere to the principles of good journalism. So in the spirit of simple honesty, our policy is to encourage our editors to reveal their beliefs to the extent they feel comfortable. Politics I'm an unenrolled voter, and I've been known to vote both blue and red. I find politics fascinating and frustrating all at the same time. Religion I am a Christian who believes that everyone has the right and privilege to make his/her own decisions. When it comes to religious reporting, I believe religious issues should be treated with the same vigor and thoroughness that we expect of any topic that so drastically affects the way people behave and interact. Local hot button issues Wayland has a unique personality and is doing its best to walk the line between preserving its historically semi-rural character while planning for the future. Education is important as is community involvement.
