From Dracula and melodrama to OktoberFest and SAT prep, there a little something for everyone going on this weekend in and around Belmont.

Friday, Oct. 11

DRACULA, the Mina Harker Journals at Notre Dame De Namur University Theatre
Oct. 11-20 Notre Dame de Namur Theater
A world premiere theatre performance of an original play written and directed by Notre Dame De Namur University Theatre Professor, R. Dutch Fritz,  adapted from the 1897, gothic horror novel DRACULA by Bram Stoker. The all student cast will be presenting this Steampunk styled production over two weekends, opening October 11 , at 7:30PM, performance dates to include Oct. 11, 12, 18, 19 at 7:30PM, Sunday matinee on October 20, at 2:00 PM

Final Weekend For BCP Melodrama

The show will finish its run this weekend, Oct. 11 & 12 at 8:00 p.m. and Oct. 13 at 2:00 p.m. 

Complete with villains (“Boo!”), heroes, (Hurrah!), and heroines (Awww!), this year's show is the story of Confederate soldier looking for Union gold in all the wrong places. 

Fourth Annual Hand-Blown Art Glass Pumpkin Patch--Half Moon Bay

Oct. 11-14

Half Moon Bay Art Glass will transform the grounds of La Nebbia Winery into a glistening glass pumpkin patch featuring the work of artist and glass blower Douglass C. Brown. This artistic installation will feature over 1,000 one-of-a-kind glass pumpkins available for purchase, each one personally handcrafted by Brown, who works year round to create this spectacular display.

40th Annual Safeway World Championship Pumpkin Weigh-Off

Who will break the world record of a 2,009-pound pumpkin when growers with their huge pumpkins descend upon Half Moon Bay for the 40th Annual Safeway World Championship Pumpkin Weigh-Off to kick-off the Art & Pumpkin Festival Oct. 19-20? The official weighing takes place from 7 to 11 a.m. on the I.D.E.S. Grounds, 735 Main Street in Half Moon Bay where forklifts and harnesses will be used to place the monster gourds on a 5-ton capacity digital scale under the watchful eye of officials from the San Mateo County Agricultural Commissioner's Office of Weights, Sealers, and Measures.
