Friday, Nov. 8

Bay Area e.T.c. presents Oliver!
Nov. 8-10 Canada College
Come see Bay Area e.T.c.'s production of Oliver!. Oliver! is a 
musical retelling of Dickens' famous novel, Oliver Twist. Oliver! tells 
the story of an adventurous orphan boy in 19th century London as he 
escapes an orphanage and joins a group of pickpockets. 

Raptorama Birding Event
Half Moon Bay
The first annual winter raptor migration event will take place in Half Moon Bay, kicking off with a reception on Friday night to welcome the speakers and attendees.  On Saturday and Sunday, participants will partake in concurrent lectures and walks during the day with a raptor expert serving as the keynote speaker on Saturday evening during dinner.  The lectures and dinner will be held at Cameron's Outback.

Belmont 4H Fundraiser
8 a.m.-2 p.m. (Sat & Sun) Carlmont Shopping Center near Starbucks
Please help support the Belmont 4-H Nonprofit Youth Development organization which teaches life skills, hobbies, leadership and citizenship by being youth self governing, and by initiating community service hands on learning activities which are self-funded through fundraising efforts. We're selling stocking stuffer dog treats and fresh baked Krispy Kreme doughnuts (25 dozen) to help fund the year's club and community service activities.  

Kaplan ACT Practice Test
9:00 a.m., Belmont Library
The Belmont Library is offering a FREE ACT practice test provided by Kaplan Test Prep. Register in person or by phone by calling (650) 591-8286, beginning Monday, October 21st. Space is limited! For high school ages only.

The Johnston House Holiday Boutique is a Half Moon Bay tradition. Local artists and Half Moon Bay merchants bring handmade items, unique gifts and delicious foods! Elijah ! by Felix Mendelssohn ; Masterworks Chorale
8:00 p.m. Woodside HS Performing Arts Center
For the first time in our 50-year history, Masterworks performs Elijah. One of the great masterpieces of the repertoire for chorus and orchestra, it is a truly epic work with the sweep of great stories elevated by captivating music. Our Elijah — one of the most demanding baritone roles in the repertoire — will be the dramatically compelling and vocally powerful Kirk Eichelberger.

H2Open Doors Party
7:00 p.m. Devil's Canyon Brewery
The two Redwood City Rotary clubs invite you to the H2OpenDoors Party to help raise funds for water purification systems to be placed in third world schools and villages. The next project is in Myanmar (Burma), and students from Woodside High and Redwood High will be accompanying the expedition in February.

Bicycle Sunday on Canada Road
Bicycle Sunday is an opportunity for riders of all ages and levels of experience to bike (or walk, run, skate, etc.) down Cañada Road while it is closed off from all motor vehicles.  It’s really popular in the cycling community.

Artists' Reception and Exhibit
2-4 p.m. Manor House, Twin Pines Park, Belmont
The participating artists work in oil and acrylic painting, watercolor, photography, and mixed media.  The exhibit will run from November 2 through December 27, with an artist reception on Nov. 10 from 2-4 p.m.
