It's National Night Out: Patch Will Be There...Will You?

The national campaign aims to raise crime prevention awareness, strengthen neighborhood unity and spirit and develop partnerships between the City of Belmont and the community.

Belmont isn't the only city celebrating tonight--communities around the country gather the first Tuesday every August to step out of their homes for an informal gathering of neighbors, public safety officers and city officials. The simple act of turning on your porch light lets everyone know you're participating in this crime prevention awareness event.

There are eight locations throughout Belmont particpating in NNO:

During Belmont's National Night Out, participants will learn more about:

  • Community Emergency Response Training (CERT)
  • Neighborhood Watch 
  • Child Identification Fingerprint Kits 
  • Neighborhood Associations
  • Traffic Safety


that when residents on a block know each other, the neighborhood and the community is safer and stronger.
