Peninsula Summer Leaguers Reunited in Big League Camp
Burlingame High's Scott Feldman and Terra Nova's Greg Reynolds, who played for the same Joe DiMaggio League team in 2001, are now Texas Rangers teammates.
More than 10 years after playing summer league ball together, two former Peninsula baseball standouts are having a reunion of sorts.

Burlingame High alum Scott Feldman, who’s in his eighth year pitching for the Texas Rangers, is once again playing with Terra Nova grad Greg Reynolds at the team's Surprise, Ariz., spring training facility, MLB.com reports.
The Peninsula duo played on the same Joe DiMaggio League team in 2001, when Feldman’s Burlingame squad claimed Reynolds off the Pacifica club under a league rule allowing teams going into the playoffs to grab another player off another team’s roster.

Joe DiMaggio League typically features some of the state’s most talented players and offers a refreshing alternative to the controversial pay-to-play showcase circuit.
Feldman and Reynolds went on to win the state championship that year.
"We took [Reynolds] even though he was only 15," Feldman told MLB.com. "He was really good and he could hit. I think he batted cleanup or fifth for us."
Their reunion is the result of a trade that brought Reynolds to the Rangers in exchange for journeyman infielder Chad Tracy.
Feldman was pitching in the big leagues within two years of being drafted by the Rangers out of College of San Mateo in 2003. He’s a career 33-33 pitcher with a 4.75 ERA over seven seasons.
"[Feldman] was definitely one of the best pitchers," Reynolds told MLB.com. "I knew who was he was. I had faced him when he was pitching for Burlingame, and he was tough."
Feldman's best year was 2009, when he was 17-8 with a 4.08 ERA.
He pitched in the postseason each of the last two years, appearing in five games in last year’s World Series.
Reynolds was drafted by the Rockies in 2006 after pitching for three years at Stanford. He’s a career 5-8 pitcher with a 7.47 ERA over parts of two seasons pitching in the hitter-friendly thin air of Coors Field. He was 3-0 with a 6.19 ERA last season in 13 appearances for the Rockies.
