Richwood, Navarro Lead All-PAL Softball Teams
El Camino's Rodriguez, San Mateo's Sutton and Woodside's Miller earn All-PAL Ocean individual awards; complete all-league teams for PAL Bay and Ocean Divisions released.
Hillsdale High ace Jordan Richwood and Capuchino catcher Jamie Navarro headlined the Peninsula Athletic League softball awards that were released Tuesday, collecting the highest individual honors in the top-tier Bay Division.
Richwood was named the PAL Bay Division pitcher of the year after guiding Hillsdale to its second straight league championship. Heading into the Knights’ Central Coast Section playoff opener today, the senior right-hander sports a 21-4 record and a 0.59 earned run average. Richwood has totaled 309 strikeouts in 165 innings, issuing just 26 walks. The Memphis-bound right-hander, who shared PAL Bay pitcher of the year honors in 2010 with Capuchino’s Michele Pilster, has amassed 19 shutouts.
, who will play at College of San Mateo next year, landed PAL Bay Division player of the year honors for the first time. The senior leadoff hitter led Capuchino in many offensive categories during the regular season, including batting average (.469), hits (38), runs (25), extra-base hits (14) and slugging percentage (.753).

In the PAL Ocean Division, El Camino senior Selina Rodriguez was selected as the player of the year, and Woodside senior Ashley Miller and San Mateo junior Bailey Sutton shared pitcher of the year honors.
