Friday Night Lights Right Around the Corner

The work continues on the sports field at Carlmont High School; lights will be ready to be turned on for first football game Fri., Sept. 21.

When the football team takes the field for its first home game against Aragon on Fri., Sept. 21, it will be beneath the glow of .

According to Louise Pacheco, construction project manager for SUHSD, the (lights/bleacher/parking lot) is on schedule and the stadium will be ready for the first home game under the new lights. Extensive prep work is being done now, and Pacheco expects the lights to be delivered by mid-August.

In addition to the installation of the four 80-foot light poles, aluminum bleachers and parking lot (adjacent to the tennis courts) are being added to the school's stadium facility.

In a concurrent, but separate project, the ten-year-old synthetic turf is being replaced. 

The was approved in the spring by a unanimous vote by the Sequoia Union High School District (SUHSD).

Carlmont was the that did not have lights on its athletic field.

There will be four Friday night football games at Carlmont High School this season.
