Belmont's Hometown Heroes to be Honored
Players and coaches will receive a mayoral proclamation Tuesday and a homecoming celebration is planned this Sunday for the 11/12 year old NorCal Little League Champs from Belmont and Redwood Shores.
Returning home to where it all began earlier this summer, the Belmont-Redwood Shores All Stars Little League team will be recognized for their accomplishments as NorCal champs at a community celebration this Sunday, Sept 15., 10 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Belmont Sports Complex.
And tonight, Mayor Christine Wozniak will present the team with a proclamation at the regular meeting of the Belmont City Council at 7:30 p.m. in Belmont City Hall, One Twin Pines Lane.
Sunday's celebration, which will take place on the Marina Field, will feature baseball activities, games, BBQ, t-shirt sales, children’s activities and more. The highlight of the event will be the grand entrance and procession of the players and coaches at 11:00 a.m. Speeches and presentations will begin at 11:15 a.m.

Players will be giving autographs and a bake sale will be held to help offset the team’s travel expenses.
The community is invited to attend this historic event celebrating the 11 and 12-year old athletes and their coaches from Belmont and Redwood Shores.

11 am - Grand Entrance of the All Star team. Marina Field, Team will be driven to the field in brand new Mercedes Benz convertibles courtesy of Autobahn Motors.
11:15 am - Awards and Recognition Ceremony - Marina Field. Performances by the Carlmont High School Drum line.
12 pm - Autograph Session with the All Star Team; continuation of the Baseball Celebrations and BBQ.
