It's a win-or-go-home scenario today for the seemingly unstoppable Belmont-Redwood Shores 11/12-year-old all-stars.

Earlier this week, BRS was defeated by Santa Cruz 2-0, but went on to crush Sacramento 12-1 in a five-innings mercy ruling Friday, then beat Santa Cruz 2-0 Saturday to earn a rematch with Santa Cruz Sunday at 11 a.m. in Roseville.

Team parent Julie Craft reports that Brad Shimabuku pitched the entire game on Friday against Sacramento and players Noah Marcelo, Brad Shimabuku and Nicolas Lopez hit out-of-the-park home runs. (Lopez had two homers in the game.)

According to Craft, BRS turned the tables on Santa Cruz on Saturday, winning 2-0 behind the strong pitching of Nicolas Lopez, who threw a no-hitter with 12 strike-outs.

Two teams will compete again Sunday at 11 am and the winner will advance to Western Region championships.

"Our boys are boys of character on and off the field and are true champions," says Craft.
