One of the most important body parts in singing is your soft palate. The soft palate is the soft squishy part of the roof of your mouth located near the back of your throat. For singing, it is best to have it lifted up (higher for classical styles and just a little for commercial music styles). You can find this position by beginning a yawn. that slight upward stretch that you feel is your soft palate!
