An Introduction to The Latimerlo Singing Studio

Hello, Belmont Patch-ians!

My name is Gina Latimerlo, and I am excited to be sharing this blog with you!  I thought I'd begin by introducing you to our singing studio and sharing a bit of our successes and class offerings.

Our studio, called The Latimerlo Studio, started in Belmont in 1998.  While we teach all styles of singing, but musical theatre and pop music are our specialties.  We've had great success with our students over the years -- in addition to local successes, some have to Broadways, others have signed with record labels and talent agents, and our youth have been accepted into amazing programs and universities.

We offer private lessons and classes both at the main studio with Gina  or through Recreation programs in over a dozen cities throughout the Bay Area.

Belmont Recreation was one of the first programs that we expanded into, and it has been great. We offer a few different courses in singing with our wonderful, well-trained and very experienced instructors.  Our mainstay, Private Singing Lessons, are one-on-one lessons in which the teacher can put all the focus on the individual student's growth.

Because of our relationship with the Rec programs we can offer these at a more discounted price than elsewhere.  It was important to me to make singing accessible to everyone -- my parents couldn't really afford ongoing private lessons for me as a kid, so I wanted to create opportunities for more individuals and families to find their voice.

We also offer KidSing -- a group class for 5-9 year-olds to introduce them to music, the basics of singing technique, and performance skills.  This is a fun and rewarding class for the kids and the teachers!  In late fall, we will also be offering a Holiday Caroling class where students can learn about great singing technique while singing the songs of the season…and then they will go out to the community and carol on the last day of class!

We create consistency in our technique and curriculum across our classes by all being based in the technique of Sing Anything - Mastering Vocal Styles, a book Gina co-authored with celeb voice coach Lisa Popeil.  It has sold both across the country and internationally.

You can check out our programs at www.latimerlo.com, and sign up for our Belmont Recreation through the links on that site, as well!
