Youth Soccer Club Honors NDNU Leaders

Belmont United Soccer Club showed its appreciation to NDNU for the use of Koret Field with plaques acknowledging four university officials.

Koret Field, home of the Notre Dame de Namur University (NDNU) Argonaut soccer and lacrosse teams, is also home to Belmont United Soccer Club's (BUSC) 18 teams and academy programs.

And to thank the university for use of the field, BSUS president Saverio Ferme and board members invited university president Judith Grieg and three other NDNU officials out to the field last Saturday for a special presentation during halftime of the Argonauts men's soccer match.

"We are here today to celebrate our club and to honor NDNU's leadership for their support of youth sports programs," said Ferme.

"NDNU's opening of the field to the community youth sports organizations, has helped tremendously. This has been especially true as our children population has grown, while our facilities availability has shrunk due to school expansion work. For all these reasons our club, and the community as a whole will be forever grateful to NDNU."

"In particular - President Judith Grieg and her leadership team - have been awesome supporters.  We owe her, Director of Community Outreach Maureen Freschet, Athletic Director Josh Doody, and Communication Director Richard Rossi a debt of gratitude."

Ferme and BSUS board members then presented each university official with a plaque acknowledging their leadership---all to the applause of grateful young soccer players and their families.
