Two Weeks Till Kick-Off

The Carlmont Scots varsity football team will play its first home game under the new permanent stadium lights on Fri., Sept. 21.

Workers put the finishing touches on the playing field, , bleachers and parking lot in anticipation of the 2012-13 football season.

And while their field is being prepped, the football team has converted the girls' softball field into a practice area.

The will be held under the new lights on Sept. 21 at 7:00 p.m. vs. Aragon.

The was approved in the spring by a unanimous vote by the Sequoia Union High School District (SUHSD).

I will definitely attend Carlmont's first night game. The Scots have a grand history that includes the likes of Ed Berry, Bill Ring, Gary Artist, Brian Artist and coaches like Jim Liggett, Al Swann and Rick Brown.

Thanks Rick---I mentioned Bill Ring to some of the workers yesterday at the field and they were quite impressed (but more impressed by CHS alum Dana Carvey!) Is Al Swann related to Serra football legend Lynn Swann?

How many other night games will there be this season? @RickEymer - Ed Berry also was an assistant track coach in the late 90s at Carlmont.

Good point Bill....I should have added that! There are 5 home games (all under the lights) this season: 9-21 vs Aragon; 9-28 vs Woodside; 10-12 vs Mills; 10-19 vs El Camino; 10-26 vs Hillsdale. And I believe Ed Berry also coached at Serra HS in the mid-2000s.
