Tigers Strike Gold in Track & Field Invitational

Many athletes won medals and earned personal bests in times and distances.

The (NDB) frosh/soph track team won it's second invitational in a row on Saturday April 21.

Paced by outstanding performances in the 4x100 and 4x400 relays, the short handed Tigers finished first out of 23 teams.

Trailing Scotts Valley 59-51 going in to the final event, the 4x400, NDB needed to win the event to win the meet. The team of Hannay Say, Claudia Arquerro, Laurasia Holzman and Nadine O'Riordan  ran a season best time of 4:23.76, a drop of more than 12 seconds, to ensure the victory for Notre Dame.

With most of the junior and senior athletes receiving the day off after prom, Lizzy Hegedus and Carolyn Doricott were the only two athletes competing in the varsity meet. Lizzy finished first in the pole vault equaling her personal record of 8'6", Carolyn finished third in the pole vault, equaling her personal record, 7'6".

Notre Dame compiled 22 Personal Records and 20 medals on the day. The top six were awarded medals, the top seven scored.
