A message from Belmont-Redwood Shores School District interim co-superintendents Nellie Hugerford and Dr. Suzanne Roy.

Dear Parents,

In this season of joy we are deeply saddened by the shocking news of the tragedy that occurred in Newtown, Connecticut early this morning.  Our prayers and special thoughts are with the families and community members who are faced with their heartbreaking loss of so many children and adults.  We want to reassure you your child’s safety is our highest priority.

We ask you to consider how to address this information in a manner that meets the needs of your child. We expect that children will be talking about this. We are addressing ways in which we can respond to students' questions with appropriate age level information.
