Save the Music Fest: Number 11 Was 'Up to Eleven'

Hopefully pop culture fans will get the This is Spinal Tap reference "Up to Eleven" in the headline--a phrase coined in the mockumentary meaning anything that exceeds expectations or taking something to an extreme.

In this case, the "Eleven" can be associated with Sunday's Save the Music Festival in two modes: it was the 11th annual School-Force fundraiser, AND it exceeded expectations in terms of talent, energy, attendance, and, hopefully raising funds for enrichment programs in the Belmont-Redwood Shores School District.

Chris Fishel, who was a volunteer on the original Save the Music committee 11 years ago, summed up the festival's humble beginnings and continuing success...

"When you plant the seed.....(pointing over his shoulder at the Stanford University dancing Cardinal conifer)....you get a tree!"
