Ralston Museum Fair Connects Future To Past
Eighth graders share their history projects with the rest of the Belmont community.
Hundreds of students last night showed off school projects that culminated months of work to parents, school faculty, city officials and other notable members of the Belmont community.
During the Ralston Middle School Museum event, admirers packed the school auditorium to appreciate the students' final semester projects that included dioramas, models, paintings and a variety of other creative works.
Eighth grade social studies teacher Jennifer Frey required her 174 students to create the projects and complete a research paper about a historical monument of their choice, then present them to the community.
The event last night served as an opportunity for students to share their work with members of the , trustees on the officials of the and others who interviewed the students and judged the projects.
Students, dressed formally for presentations, spoke authoritatively on the projects they spent months researching, designing and completing.
Some students made models of landmarks such as bridges, towers, capitol buildings while others offered paintings of famous historical figures or models of items from years passed such as telegraphs and steam locomotives.
