Parents to Rally Around Ralston Principal

Through social media and good old fashioned word-of-mouth, parents at Ralston Middle School are uniting to take on the Belmont Redwood Shores School board of trustees over the termination of principal Scott Carson.

A recent posting on NextDoor.com is urging parents in the Belmont-Redwood School District to attend the Thursday night board of trustees meeting in a show of support for Ralston Middle School principal, whose contract was not renewed.

"There was unprecedented support to keep Mr. Carson as principal at Ralston for at least (1) more year by parents and teachers at the March 21st School Board meeting. A decision still has not been made, and We Can’t Stop Now! The Board needs to keep hearing from us until we get a resolution," says the posting.

"There is power in numbers and we need to have a strong presence. Everyone is welcome to speak and when parents speak in support of Principal Carson, we’d like all parents to stand as a show of solidarity. Please wear black as part of that solidarity."
