Obituary: Ruairi Flanagan, Son of Belmont Police Admin Kathy DeConcini

Ruairi Flanagan, 30, was killed in a surfing accident in Australia last week.

Ruairi Flanagan, 30, son of Belmont Police Department administrative assistant Kathy DeConcini, died in a surfing accident in Australia late last week.

A mass will be held for Ruairi on Wednesday March 13 at St. Robert's Catholic Church, located at 1380 Crystal Springs Road in San Bruno. Services will begin at 4 p.m.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to fight autism, which was one of Ruairi's passions.

Ruairi was born in San Francisco and raised in Millbrae, his mother said. He attended St. Robert's Catholic School in San Bruno, graduated from Serra High School in San Mateo, and he graduated from San Francisco State University.

Ruairi is survived by his father, mother, brother and sister, DeConcini said.
