Notre Dame High Students Earn Awards in Essay Contest

Junior Ellie Hurley was awarded the grand prize in the Respect Life Essay Contest

 

For the third straight year, a student from , Belmont, has been honored as the grand prize winner in an essay contest sponsored by the Archdiocese of San Francisco.

Last week Notre Dame principal announced the school's four winners of the Annual Respect Life Essay Contest. Junior Ellie Hurley was awarded the grand prize. Ellie was joined by Sophomore Kaylee Kohlmaier as First Prize Winner in San Mateo County and Freshmen Simone Conde and Nicole Bryant who earned Honorable Mention Citations.

Students participated in the May 13 Liturgy and Awards Ceremony at St. Mary’s Cathedral in San Francisco.  Auxiliary Bishop William Justice celebrated the Liturgy and presented the awards to students in Grades K-12 representing Catholic Schools in San Francisco, Marin, and San Mateo Counties.
