Notre Dame High Student Earns Top Honor

Junior Ellie Hurley received a $500 scholarship in the Hugh Mullin Memorial Essay Contest.

 

In a reflection of how her Christian faith helped her cope with the challenges of today's world, junior Ellie Hurley's essay earned her top honors and a college scholarship.

Hurley received the Grand Prize Award, a $500 college scholarship, in the High School Division of the Hugh Mullin Memorial Essay Contest sponsored by the Serra Club of San Mateo.

In April, Ellie and other student winners were honored at a luncheon attended by teachers and administrators from their respective schools. The Serra Club of San Mateo seeks to increase an awareness of how Christianity can positively influence and affect students' lives while also promoting vocations to the priesthood and religious life.
