"Introduction to Facebook" Little House Activity Center

Facebook “Likes” Little House Activity Center

The social media giant emphasizes it’s community roots as it reaches out to Menlo Park’s premiere activity center

Menlo Park, CA January 11, 2012 – The newest addition to Menlo Park’s burgeoning financial district has finally arrived and with that arrival comes Facebook’s outpouring of support for the local community. One of the first beneficiaries of Facebook’s outreach is Peninsula Volunteer’s Little House Activity Center, which will host an “Introduction to Facebook” event on Thursday January 26th at 3:30PM. Representatives from Facebook will be on hand to explain the services, both new and old, that the company offers to it’s members. As Facebook recently surpassed 800 million active users, Little House is proud to be selected by the company for this chance to educate the Menlo Park community on social media practices.

The presentation will be geared towards individuals who have limited experience with Facebook and are looking to advance their social media skills in the new year. Basic user functions such as communicating with family and friends will be discussed as well as Facebook-specific language such as “newsfeed” and “wall post”. The session will be interactive in nature, in that participants will be encouraged to ask questions so as best to tailor this opportunity to their personal needs.

As Little House will soon be launching a Facebook Page to interact with members and promote activities, this event serves as an excellent chance to familiarize oneself with the social media technology to truly reap the benefits of both Little House and Facebook.
