Here's an update of the Belmont-Redwood Shores School District construction projects.

[Editor's note: The following is an excerpt from the Belmont City Manager's Weekly Update.]

The remodeling of Ralston Middle School and sidewalk installation is scheduled for completion on Sept. 3, one week before the first day of school.

After discussion with the BRSSD staff, the City of Belmont says it anticipate the new sidewalk access through the school will be restored and opened to public shortly after the scheduled completion date.

According to BRSSD staff, the newly constructed sidewalk at Ralston is similar to the old one, with an additional walkway down the length of the parking lot to allow for safe pedestrian access to the crosswalks.

Additionally, a fence has been added to prevent cars from pulling forward into the bus lane.
