Show Your Schools Some Love! DONATE NOW

Dear Belmont-Redwood Shores Community,

Your public schools need your help!  School-Force, your education foundation, has raised almost $50,000 in just seven days, for a grand total of $1,825,000 this fiscal year.  It's a record-breaking year, but we’re not quite there yet!

Why does School-Force need to raise $2 million???  Great question!

✓ Less money is coming into our district from the state and from local property taxes than we have expenses. Our local parcel taxes make up only part of the revenue gap.

✓ At the same time, enrollment is going up because of our outstanding district and costs are up due to that increased enrollment as well as inflation.

✓ The result? BRSSD is deficit spending to the tune of $2 million per year and our reserves are nearly gone.

✓ Parent donations to School-Force and PTA make up nearly 10% of our district’s budget – and this percentage needs to double to keep the district solvent.

If everyone gave just $100, we could do it. Please donate by June 30, 2013, our fiscal year-end, to make a difference for next school year.
