Belmont Public Works Week: So Much More than Storm Drains and Sewers

Learn about the people and equipment that keep Belmont ticking May 20-24.

The Belmont Public Works Department invites members of the community to take part in a week-long outreach program May 20-24 that will demonstrate how the department serves the community.

One of the highlight's will be an Engineering Open House at the city's Corporation "Corp" Yard on Wednesday, May 22 from 1-3 p.m. to meet public works staff members and take a tour. (A perfect outing for kids on early dismissal day!)

On display at the Corp Yard will be various tools, equipment and vehicles used and maintained by the department, such as street sweepers and street signals! Visitors will have an opportunity to see:

  • Sewer Smoke Testing Demo House
  • Sewer Line Jetting/Cleaning 
  • Making Concrete Curbs
  • Video Line Inspections
