Preview: Belmont City Council to Honor Retiring Police Chief Tuesday

Retirement and sewer rates will highlight the Belmont City Council's June 26 agenda.

 

In a special presentation Tuesday night, the Belmont City Council will honor Belmont Police who will retire at the end of the month.

has been named Belmont's new police chief, effective July 1.

Also at Tuesday's meeting, a public hearing regarding the proposed sewer rate adjustments will be held to inform residential and business property owners and seek input about proposed sewer rate adjustments in fiscal years 2013 and 2014.

The proposed rate adjustments will be presented to the City Council for adoption at this meeting. If approved, the new sewer rates will take effect 30 days after the public hearing; rates will appear on the next property tax bill.
