President Obama to Visit the Bay Area Thursday

President Obama will make a one-day stop in the region for a visit with business and technology leaders.

President Obama is coming to the Bay Area on Thursday for a one-day visit with business and technology leaders.

The president will meet privately with the leaders to discuss his commitment to investing in research and development, education and clean energy, according to the White House media affairs office.

The president is scheduled to arrive Thursday evening and then fly out of San Francisco International Airport on Friday morning.

Obama will then head to Hillsboro, Ore., to visit an Intel Corp. plant and learn about the company's STEM, or Science, Technology, Engineering and Math, education programs.
