President Obama will arrive fashionably late to a brunch fundraiser in Atherton around 10:25 a.m., which was originally scheduled for 9 a.m.

President Obama left Crissy Field in San Francisco and arrived by helicopter to the Menlo Park Circus Club, where high security and Secret Service dogs were guarding the area.

Authorities this morning blocked off an area around San Francisco's Crissy Field, where the president left by helicopter for the Peninsula.

The president arrived in the Bay Area on Wednesday evening for a short fundraising trip that included two events in San Francisco that night.

He stayed overnight at the InterContinental San Francisco hotel at Fifth and Howard streets, and early this morning police began shutting down streets in the South of Market neighborhood to allow his motorcade to pass through.

An employee at the Beach Hut Cafe, located at 1199 East Beach at the eastern edge of Crissy Field, said around 9 a.m. that city and U.S. Park Police had blocked off streets there in anticipation of the president's arrival.

From the city, Obama will head to a morning brunch of 30 people hosted by Liz Simons and Mark Heising, followed by a 10:30 a.m. luncheon with 200 people at the home of Marcia and John Goldman, which will likely be pushed back. Those stops will benefit the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee.

Obama attended two events on Wednesday to raise money for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee in San Francisco's Pacific Heights, including a dinner at the home of Ann and Gordon Getty.

Obama will depart from San Francisco International Airport this afternoon.

All this guy does is campaign, campaign, campaign. What the hell is he raising all this money for? He's a lame duck for God's sake! Makes me wonder who he's taking all this money from and, most importantly, why?
Karen McLaren April 10, 2013 at 09:07 PM
Wolfone, I must call you on your stereotyping, race-card pulling ways. How on earth could you intellignetly assume I am a white republican? You're wrong. However, I do realize that one resorts to ad hominem comments when (1) one hasn't taken the time to research and develop a credible position and (2) one would like to provoke someone who disagrees with their views. Now as to your calling me a loon, I'm not one of those either; though I have heard and seen loons in Minnesota and they are lovely birds. As to "nice people call the POTUS...."; I know you're not my mother, so I can disregard your lesson in manners. All that being said, this person (me) whom you have tried to pigeonhole, stereotype and insult, smiles, rolls her eyes and maintains, yes -- Obama is an arrogant buffoon and that's just for starters.

What is this, once or twice a mpnth to the Peninsula for a fund raiser. Seems as though we are just a drive-thru ATM.
Karen McLaren April 20, 2013 at 05:04 PM
Right on Dan. He wouldn't come back again if he didn't scoop up the cash. Here's a question: If you want to breeze in, why not make yourself accessible to hoi poloi? If you claim you represent the poor, why do you behave like royalty? Why not score one for the Dems by coming into town without charging thousands just to be seen with your glorious self?
