Get Your Green On: Deadline Looming for Earth Day Poster Art Submissions

The winner's poster art will be used to publicize citywide Earth Day events. Deadline for submissions is Wed. Feb. 20.

How do you visualize Earth Day 2013? Do you have an artistic eye and a poster board? If so, the City of Belmont's Public Works Department invites you to enter this year's Earth Day Poster Art contest.

As the city gears up for the its annual Earth Day events on Saturday, April 20, the selected poster will will be inserted in the advertisement flier and will be posted on the city’s Facebook page, the city’s website, library and local television channel 27.

All poster art must pertain to Earth Day, be original, and created on 8 1⁄2 X 11 inch paper or posterboard using marker, crayon, colored pencil or paint.

All that's required is your artwork; the city will insert all of the times, and locations of events.

Creek/On-land Cleanup
E-Waste Recycling
Compost Giveaway
Document Shredding
Informational booths for Reusable bags & Stormwater Pollution Prevention.

Deadline for submissions is Wednesday, February 20th at 5:00 pm, and all artwork must be submitted with the artist’s name, and contact information. Original poster art can be submitted the following ways:

Electronically to dlynn@belmont.gov
OR Drop off at Belmont City Hall, One Twin Pines Lane,  Suite 385, M-F 8am-12pm & 1-5pm.

Submissions will be posted online and voting will be determined by “likes” for your favorite poster artwork on the Public Works Facebook page.

Winner will be announced Feb. 26 and will receive a $25 gift card to Carlmont Shopping Center, and will have their artwork displayed in the 2013 Earth Day posting for advertising the event.
