Get Your Child’s Car Seat Checked in San Mateo

Jerry Hill will be on hand this Saturday at College of San Mateo as child safety seats are inspected for proper installation and use.

About four out of five child safety seats are being used incorrectly, police say – but parents seeking peace of mind can come to the on Saturday morning, where experts will be checking child seats for proper installation and use.

Assemblyman Jerry Hill, D-San Mateo, will be on hand as well, and invites all local parents to Beethoven Lot 2 at the college for first-come-first-served inspections of child safety seats.

“We see at least 80 percent have incorrectly installed the car seat or incorrectly harnessed the child in the car seat,” said Benjamin Arias, coordinator for Safe Kids Santa Clara County/San Mateo County, which collaborated with Hill to put on the event.
