ERC Lane Closures: Hang in There, It'll All be Worth It

As the Department of Transportation's (DOT) Smart Corridor project continues this week,  Caltrans will be installing new traffic management tools along Route 82 (El Camino Real). The project will require lane closures along El Camino Real, including Belmont, starting Monday morning, April 8.

Improvements include, a fiber optic communication system, interconnection of local and State traffic signals, trailblazer signs, message signs, vehicle detection systems and fixed cameras.

This system will run from the City of San Bruno to Redwood City.

The lane closure information has been provided by Caltrans:

Note: These will be partial closures – one lane will be closed, and two lanes open on each of these construction zones.

Monday, April 8

8:01am to 2:30pm. -one lane closed, northbound, El Camino Real, between 43rd Avenue & 27th Avenue and one lane closed, Southbound, El Camino Real, between 27th Avenue & 31rst Avenue.

9:01pm to 6:01am. - one lane closed Northbound, El Camino Real between Ralston Avenue & 3rd Avenue.

11:01pm to 6:01am. - one lane closed, Southbound, El Camino Real, between 3rd Avenue & Ralston Avenue.

8:01am to 2:00pm. - one lane closed, Southbound, El Camino Real, between Oakgrove Avenue & Bellevue Avenue.

Tuesday, April 9

8:01am to 2:30pm. -One lane closed, Northbound, El Camino Real, between 43rd Avenue & 27th Avenue; one lane closed, Southbound, El Camino Real, between 27th Avenue & 31rst Avenue; one lane closed, Southbound, El Camino Real, between Oakgrove Avenue & Bellevue Avenue.

11:01pm to 6:01am.  -One lane closed, Northbound, El Camino Real, between Ralston Avenue & 3rd Avenue; one lane closed, Southbound, El Camino Real, 3rd Avenue & Ralston Avenue.

Wednesday, April 10

8:01am to 2:30pm. -One lane closed, Northbound, El Camino Real, between 43rd Avenue & 27th Avenue; one lane closed, Southbound, El Camino Real, between 27th Avenue & 31rst Avenue; one lane closed, Southbound, El Camino Real, between Oakgrove Avenue & Bellevue Avenue.

Friday, April 12

8:01am to 2:30pm. -One lane closed, Northbound, El Camino Real, between 43rd Avenue & 27th Avenue; one lane closed, Southbound, El Camino Real, between, 27th Avenue, & 31rst Avenue; one lane closed, Southbound, El Camino Real between Oakgrove Avenue & Bellevue Avenue.

11:01pm to 8:01am. One lane closed Northbound, El Camino Real between Ralston Avenue & 3rd Avenue; one lane closed Southbound, El Camino Real between 3rd Avenue & Ralston Avenue.

Changeable message signs will be in effect to help guide motorist through construction zones. Motorists should allow for extra travel time and expect delays.
