The Belmont City Council voted to reappoint two Parks and Recreation commissioners Tuesday night, while passing over the commission’s current chair, Kevin Sullivan. To new members were also appointed. (Councilmember Warren Lieberman, who participated in the meeting via teleconference, cast his votes verbally.)
Incumbents Susan Wright and Rich Bortoli will serve another two years, and Thea Runyan, a health and wellness specialist for the Belmont Redwood Shores School District, and Craig Michaels will be the new members.
Sophie Fox was appointed to a one-year term as youth commissioner, while the second seat remains open.
Karin Hold, one of the leaders in the opposition to the proposed development of Crystal Springs Uplands School last year, was appointed the Planning Commission. Fellow newcomer Amy Goldfarb will join Hold in serving three-year terms.
Hold and Goldfarb will take the seats of current planning commissioners Jackie Horton and Eric Reed whose terms expire this month. Neither Horton nor Reed sought reappointment.
All incumbent finance commissioners were reappointed, as there were no new applicants.
