Slideshow: A City Honors its Chief

On the eve of his retirement, Belmont Police Chief Don Mattei told the city, "It's time to regenerate the department with new leadership."

He quipped that he had to couldn't find his gold chief's badge while getting ready  for the evening's festivites, but Belmont Police Chief Don Mattei finally found his badge and pinned it proudly to his blue uniform for his final act as chief---being honored by the citizens, elected officials, fellow officers and community leaders for his 34 years of service to the City of Belmont.
