Belmont Officer Honored by State Attorney General

Kevin Daley was recognized for his 28 years of service to the Belmont Police Department.

On Wednesday, Belmont police lieutenant Kevin Daley was presented with the Attorney General Award for Law Enforcement Officers.

Daley, who will retire in December after serving 28 years with the Belmont Police Department, was recognized for his service at a meeting of law enforcement leaders from Alameda, ContraCosta, Monterey, San Benito, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara & Santa Cruz counties. California attorney general Kamala Harris presented the award.

“Since 1984 Kevin Daley has been a consummate leader for the men and women of the BelmontPolice Department. From his early years as a Reserve Police Officer and Patrol Officer, to his seniorpositions as Lieutenant and SWAT Commander, Kevin has always set a standard for others to follow. He does so with a passionate commitment to his community and with a genuine caring for those thathe leads.” said Belmont Police Chief Don Mattei.

“Next month, after serving the residents of Belmont for 28 years, Kevin will retire, knowing the satisfaction of a job well done and the pride that he leavesbehind an organization that will carry on his professional values for generations to come.” Mattei added.
