Belmont Hosting 'Open Houses' During Public Works Week

The following is a news release from the city of Belmont: 

Join us in celebration for National Public Works Week (NPWW). NPWW is a celebration of the men and women who provide and maintain the infrastructure and services collectively known as public works.

Belmont Public Works will host two open houses during the course of National Public Works Week.

Wednesday, May 21st, 8am-noon and 1pm-5pm Belmont Public Works Engineering Open House at One Twin Pines Lane Suite 385 in City Hall.

  • Residents are encouraged to stop by to learn about storm water pollution prevention, understanding encroachment permits, drop off their small household batteries for recycling, pick up a free color property boundary map of their residence, learn about infiltration and inflow, and how to select the proper sewer cleanout cap.

Thursday, May 22, from 1pm-3pm Belmont Corporation Yard Open House at 110 Sem Lane, hosted by Belmont Public Works, Recology and Mid-Peninsula Water District.
  • Meet Staff, tour the corporation yard, watch live demonstrations, check out the various displays and exhibits, learn about water conservation and recycling, grab some popcorn and spin the prize wheel. Be sure to bring a camera, there will be photo opportunities available in police vehicles and off-road equipment. Great for all ages! An event you won't want to miss!
