Belmont Election Guide

The candidates, incumbents and issues that will be affecting Belmont and San Mateo County.

The newly drawn 13th State Senate District includes northern Santa Clara County and much of San Mateo County, including Belmont.

Jerry Hill - Hill has been an elected official representing portions of San Mateo County for more than 20 years. He has been the mayor of San Mateo, County Supervisor and has served in the Assembly since 2008.

Sally Lieber - Lieber served in the California State Assembly from 2002 until 2008, representing California's 22nd Assembly District and as the Assembly’s Speaker pro Tempore. Before her election to the State Assembly, Lieber served as a council member and mayor of Mountain View.


This Assembly seat represents most of South San Francisco as well as Pacifica, San Bruno, Millbrae, Burlingame, Hillsborough, San Mateo, Belmont, Foster City, San Carlos and Redwood City.

Kevin Mullin - Mullin currently serves as a City Councilmember of South San Francisco and represents San Mateo County on the Metropolitan Transportation Commission. He has served for nearly 10 years on the Workforce Investment Board of San Mateo County.

Mark Gilham - Gilham is a small business owner in Redwood City, and a former Marine and missionary.



. This Supervisor represents Redwood City, Menlo Park and East Palo Alto.

Warren Slocum - Slocum is a former Chief Elections Officer & Assessor-County Clerk Recorder for San Mateo County Office of Elections.

Shelly Masur - Masur currently serves on the Redwood City School Board, as the immediate past-president of the San Mateo County School Boards Association and as an elected member of the California School Boards Association’s Delegate Assembly.
