The public hearing at tonight's Belmont City Council meeting on the application by Crystal Springs Uplands School (CSUS) promises to be a lengthy and contentious process.
Members of the community are invited to speak on the project during the public hearing portion of the meeting. Those who cannot attend the meeting, may watch it live on Channel 27, or stream it via the city's website, www.belmont.gov.
Without the full support of the Belmont Planning Commission, CSUS officials are going into tonight's meeting hoping that at least three of the five councilmembers will accept their offer of a $1 million one-time payment, $250,000 annually, and extensive use of a synthetic turf athletic field in return a majority vote approving construction of a 52,000 square foot campus on the site of a vacant office/warehouse on Davis Drive.
