Woman and Child Carjacked Near Toto's Pizzeria

The carjacking occurred at about 9 p.m. on Tuesday.

A woman and her 5-year-old child were carjacked in the parking lot behind on Tuesday night, according to the .

The suspect, a man about 30 years old, entered the victim's car at about 9 p.m. near Toto's, located at 1250 El Camino Real, and demanded the keys to her car, Belmont police said.

The man then reportedly pushed the woman out of the car. She managed to grab her 5-year-old child from the back seat before the suspect drove away.

He was last seen driving east on Waltermire Street toward El Camino Real. Officers searched the area but weren't able to find him.

The man is black, about 5 feet 7 inches tall and around 180 pounds, according to police. He has short black hair and no facial hair, and was wearing a black windbreaker jacket and blue jeans.
