Video Camera Picks Up Possible Car Burglar

A Belmont resident shared still photos from his video surveillance camera that may show the person who broke into six cars in the Hallmark neighborhood Sunday morning.

 

A Belmont resident who lives on Highlands Court, next door to one of the victims of , shared his video surveillance images with Belmont Police and Patch.

On Sunday at approximately 3:45 a.m., six cars were broken into in the Hallmark neighborhood. According to Lt. Pat Halleran of the two of the cars were unlocked and four had their windows smashes.

Highlands Court resident Jeff Adams, whose video camera images police are studying, says that the image appears to show a person in the upper left coming out from behind the Mercedes Benz.

Police have not yet commented on these images, however, Lt. Halleran said they are working on some leads and they encourage anyone with information on this series of burglaries to call 650-595-7400 or the Belmont Crime Tip Line at 650-598-3000.

"I know that several of the homes in the area have security cameras and we would like anyone who has such a system to check it during that time frame for possible images relating to these burglaries," said Halleran.
