Two Mountain Lions Spotted Near Cañada College

The sighting was reported this afternoon.

Two mountain lions were seen near an entrance to Canada College in Redwood City this afternoon, and sheriff's officials remained at the scene as of 5:45 p.m. investigating the incident.

The sighting was reported at about 4:50 p.m. in the vicinity of the west side entrance to the campus.

Residents are advised to not approach mountain lions, and instead try to appear as large and noisy as possible. The California Department of Fish and Game also warns to avoid jogging at dawn, dusk or at night when mountain lions are most active.
