Truck Rollover Shuts Down Belmont Street

The 70-year-old Camry driver experienced a medical problem, and struck a pick-up truck.

 

A portion of Sixth Avenue in downtown Belmont, was closed Friday afternoon after a driver collided with a parked truck, flipping the truck onto its side.

According to the , at approximately 1:45pm, a 70-year-old Belmont man was driving northbound in the 1000 blk of Sixth Avenue when he experienced a medical problem. His car, a 2007 Toyota Camry, veered to the right and struck a 1995 Ford pick-up truck, which was parked at the curb, flipping the truck onto its side.

The driver was checked at the scene by Belmont Fire Department paramedics and was released.  Northbound Sixth Avenue between Emmett and Ralston avenues was closed for about an hour due to the collision, while police conducted the investigation and tow trucks removed the vehicles.
