Traffic Alert: Wide Loads Coming Up Ralston Ave. Tuesday thru Friday

Modular classrooms are being delivered to Fox Elementary School beginning Tuesday, June 19.

The Belmont Police Department is alerting residents and motorists to the upcoming to the campus of Fox Elementary School.

Beginning Tuesday, June 19 and continuing through Friday, large modular classrooms will be delivered to Fox Elementary School between 5:30 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. 

Similar in recent weeks.

According to Lt. Pat Halleran of the Belmont Police Department, the early hour was chosen so to lessen the impact on traffic. The classrooms are part of the at the school.

The classrooms are being transported on low-boy trailers; each truck-trailer unit is approximately 12-feet wide and 80-feet long. Each convoy will be escorted by pilot vehicles and Belmont police. The convoys, which are originating in the East Bay, will enter Belmont northbound on El Camino Real and will travel westbound on Ralston Avenue to the school. 

Delivery schedule for the modular classrooms: 
(Note: all deliveries to occur between 5:30 and 6:00 a.m.)

Tuesday June 19 - 5 classroom sections
Thursday June 21 - 2 classroom sections
Friday June 22 - 5 classroom sections along with a crane
