Teens Arrested for Allegedly Burglarizing Belmont School

The two teens were arrested early Monday morning after allegedly burglarizing the Immaculate Heart of Mary School.

A 15-year-old Belmont boy and 17-year-old San Carlos boy were arrested early Monday morning after allegedly burglarizing the , Belmont police said.

Officers responded to a burglar alarm at the school, located at 1000 Alameda de las Pulgas, at about 12:45 a.m., Belmont police Lt. Pat Halleran said.

The officers noticed someone had entered the school through a window, but had apparently fled when the alarm was sounded, Halleran said.

Two hours later, at about 2:45 a.m., San Mateo County sheriff's deputies spotted two teenage boys in front of .

The deputies stopped the boys, and an investigation allegedly linked the two teens to the burglary at the Immaculate Heart of Mary School.

The teens were taken into custody by the , and were later released to their parents. Their names have not been released due to their ages.

Police said the teens will likely face commercial burglary charges from the San Mateo County District Attorney's Office.
