Tablet Thieves Hit Up Radio Shack and Game Stop

Belmont police are looking for three suspects believed to be driving a tan older model 1990s minivan, similar to a Toyota or Dodge, with tinted windows, black tires/rims and yellow paper plates.

Belmont Police are seeking suspects in a pair of tablet PC thefts within minutes of each other on Monday afternoon from two downtown Belmont businesses.

The first theft was reported at approximately 3:00 p.m. from the Radio Shack store at 870 Ralston Ave. While officers were responding to that crime, a second similar theft was reported from the GameStop store at 1200 El Camino Real.

In both cases, a single male suspect entered the store, asked to see a tablet PC and as soon as the suspect had it in his hands, he fled with it to a waiting vehicle.

In both cases the suspects and their vehicle are described as follows:

•Suspect#1 (Suspect who took the PC’s): Black male adult, late 20’s to early 30’s, 6-1 to 6-2, 200 lbs, shaved head, last seen wearing blue t-shirt with a white design and blue jeans.

•Suspect#2 (Driver of vehicle): Black male adult, no further description.

•Suspect#3 (Passenger in vehicle): Black male adult, no further description.

•Suspect Vehicle: Tan older model, 1990’s minivan, similar to a Toyota or Dodge, with tinted windows, black tires/rims and yellow paper plates.

The suspect vehicle was last seen fleeing from the Game Stop Store, southbound on 5th Avenue.
