The incident occurred shortly before 10 a.m.

A small airplane made an emergency landing on a dirt road near East Palo Alto this morning, a Federal Aviation Administration spokesman said.

The pilot of a single-engine Beechcraft Musketeer declared an emergency just prior to making a forced landing about two miles west of Palo Alto Airport at 9:47 a.m., FAA spokesman Ian Gregor said.
