San Carlos Man Arrested for Alleged Lewd Acts With Child
Yung Chi Chu was arrested Wednesday evening.
A San Carlos man was arrested at his home Wednesday night on more than a dozen charges including lewd or lascivious acts with a child under 14, the San Mateo County sheriff's office reported today.
Yung Chi Chu, 46, was taken into custody without incident at about 7 p.m. and booked into San Mateo County jail in lieu of $250,000 bail, sheriff's Lt. Ray Lunny said.
The charges were brought against Chu after the parents of a 10-year-old girl called police and said they were concerned their daughter was "receiving an inappropriate number of cell phone calls and text messages from a family friend," Lunny said.

Chu, who was an I.T. technician with the Menlo Park City School District, was identified by the family friend and police obtained a search warrant of Chu's home and place of work.
Chu is charged with 12 counts of lewd or lascivious acts with a child under the age of 14; one count of sending harmful matter with the intent of seducing a minor; and one count of contacting a minor with intent to commit a sexual offense.
