Police Search for Suspect in Early Morning Assault
Belmont police detectives are checking the area behind the Lariat Tavern for video surveillance cameras and are seeking the public's help with their investigation.
Belmont police believe that a man found unconscious behind a Belmont bar on Monday morning, had been assaulted, and they are asking the public's help with the investigation.
At approximately 2:45 a.m. Monday, Belmont police received a 9-1-1 call reporting a man was down in the street on Broadway between Civic Lane and Fifth Avenue. Upon arrival, police found the victim, a 48-year-old Belmont man, lying in the street unconscious. The victim was treated at the scene by Belmont Fire Department paramedics and was transported to a local hospital with undetermined injuries.

Belmont police detectives have determined that the victim had been at the Lariat Tavern in the 1400blk of El Camino Real prior to the assault and believe that he was assaulted near the area in which he was found. Detectives are checking the area for possible security video and are seeking the public’s help with their investigation.
