New Details Released About Missing San Bruno Man

Joseph McHenry, a former Marine, told family members he was planning on going rock climbing and camping at a secluded beach near Pacifica. Police found several items that belonged to him Thursday, but the search for him continues.

 

Police have released more details about the since earlier this week.

According to media reports, police said Joseph McHenry, who was reported missing Friday after not returning from an overnight rock climbing and camping trip at a beach near Pacifica, is a former Marine with a U.S. Marine Corps tattoo on his chest.

Police didn't know what McHenry was wearing, the Associated Press reported, but he is described as 5 feet 10 inches, 170 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair.

The San Francisco Chronicle reported that ground, water and air teams found several items that belonged to McHenry on Thursday after conducting an extensive search of the area near the Sharp Park Golf Course in Pacifica, where his silver Mitsubishi Eclipse was found.

McHenry was reported missing on Monday after last being seen at his home in San Bruno on March 2.

Investigators believe his car was parked in a residential area near the golf course between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. on March 2.
